Congo DRC is the 4th most populated country in Africa with approximately 84 million inhabitants.
In 2019, Internet penetration sat at a lowly 6.2% but in recent years the country has seen significant increases with Internet penetration now sitting at 29%.
Despite being a largely cash economy, a recent study by Kasi Insight shows that eCommerce is on the rise.
Key findings from the study include:
✅ Men are more likely to shop online than women 👨🏾
✅ Bags, Shoes and Accessories are the items bought the most online 👜
✅ Mobile money adoption by consumers and companies as a mode of payment is driving the uptick in online shopping 📲
✅ eCommerce is popular in larger cities like Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Bukavu, Matadi, and Mbuij-Mayi 📈
